Children coming to the square on this day can have fun playing games and singing, and leave with some sweets. Everyone who comes to the Old Czech Christmas Market can feel the calm, Christmas atmosphere. You can not only buy small presents, Christmas trees, mistletoe, spices, gingerbread and roast chestnuts, but also watch presentations of Christmas customs or a live Nativity scene, and children can have a ride on a donkey. Just before Christmas a concert of the Bolech chamber orchestra is held, Ladislav Šotek gives an organ concert in the Dean Church during Christmas and on New Year´s Day the Garrison Music Band from Tábor performs a concert. Fairy-tales and musical evenings are integral parts of the pre-Christmas programme.
